Help! My baby has a cold!

Colds are the worst. Colds are EVEN worse when it’s your little one. Their nose is stuffy, they’re more fussy, they’re tired, and they can’t breathe as well as they normally can. Colds are common, but that doesn’t make them fun to deal with. There are tons of over-the-counter medicines you could give your little one, but they’re typically not reccomended to give to your baby under 2 years. Rest assured, they’re are so many tool other than medicine you can give your litle one.

FLUIDS- Offer your baby as many fluids as they’ll take (breastmilk/formula). Keep a close eye on diper count and the color of the urine to double check they’re staying hydrated.

REST- Skip the schedule! Seriously, stay home and let them rest as much as possible. (PS-HUGE fan of contact naps!)

SUCTION- Suck those buggers outta there! Grab a nose bulb or a nose frida and remove the buggers.

SALINE-Over the counter theres a few saline drop options - but you could also make your own (be sure to boil the water and let it cool before use)

HUMIDITY-Run a humidifier around the clock. Humidity helps keep the flow moving.

STEAM-Create a steam room by running the shower -hot- and keeping the bathroom door closed.

Hang in there mama! Trust your intuition and your babes immune system to fight this. Do keep in mind if your babe is under three months, a doctors visit is typically reccomeneded, expecially if a fever is present.
